Annette Lucas

Acupuncture, Shiatsu and Massage Therapist

(MBAcC, MRSS(t), P.G.Dip Ac)

Annette has been Practicing therapies for over 12 years and has experience supporting women, birth partners and couples during their pregnancy journey, focusing on Pre-conception health, pregnancy and the post-natal phase.  She has completed CPD training in pregnancy and childbirth. She also teaches Shiatsu at the Northern School of Shiatsu.  She has worked with women experiencing and recovering from the effects of abuse since 1996 and is aware that sadly, for some, pregnancy can be a time of heightened stress and vulnerability. Annette is keen to support women in harnessing their power and strength, support in building attachment with their child and regaining a sense of control.

Annette’s experience of community work inspired her to co-found Sheffield's first multibed/low-cost acupuncture clinic. She now enjoys running 4 Good Health alongside other therapists committed to the ethos of making therapies more accessible.

More recently, Annette became a mum herself and is truly inspired by her son and the Acupuncture and Shiatsu support she received both prior to becoming pregnant, during her pregnancy and at home during labour.

Sam Robb-King

Counsellor/Psychotherapist

Sam has over a decade of experience supporting individuals and familes preparing for, and adapting to the changes that pregnancy, birth and parenthood bring. She has supported parents through the NHS and NCT, is an infant feeding and breastfeeding counsellor, a doula for Sheffield City Council and runs baby massage courses.

Sam trained as a counsellor as a natural extension of the person centred approach she takes when supporting parents; and the perinatal period is an area of work she is passionate about. Every family has its own unique needs and everyone needs to be able to work out how these needs can be met with support and compassion.

Sam knows how pregnancy and birth can be life changing experiences that leave a legacy. Counselling is one way of working through difficult, and sometimes traumatic experiences.

Sam has been trained by SANDS to counsel people who have experienced a baby death in pregnancy or after birth.

As well as Sam’s counselling practice in Sheffield she offers counselling at a charity supporting adults who have experienced abuse in childhood. She also runs baby massage classes online and face to face

Natalie Khoaz

Midwife and Shiatsu Therapist

(BSc, BMedSci, Dip, MRSS)

Natalie has worked as a midwife in Sheffield since 2006, first in the hospital setting, then community, including 1-1 caseloading and normal community. Natalie has worked in more specialist roles, including research, audit and more recently genomics. She has a particular interest in research and evidence-based practice and the integration of complementary therapies into NHS maternity services.  As part of her Midwifery Studies BSc dissertation she completed a literature review on the evidence base for acupuncture/acupressure for nausea and vomiting in pregnancy. More recently she completed an MSc in Clinical Research and genomics education at Cambridge, as this is a growing area which is very relevant to Midwifery.

Natalie completed a three-year Shiatsu diploma in December 2011 and then a diploma in Pregnancy, labour and postnatal Shiatsu.  Natalie is a registered member of the Shiatsu Society UK and undertakes regular CPD training.

"The evidence shows that shiatsu is a therapy that can benefit everyone regardless of age, gender or sex, however during the transition to motherhood I feel shiatsu is a safe therapy that provides a space for mothers to connect with their changing body and their baby."
